AnadoluJet Launches Direct Flights between Ankara and London

The first direct flight between Ankara and London by AnadoluJet took place on Friday the 28th of January, 2011 from Ankara Esenboğa Airport to London Stansted Airport in the capital city of England. During the reception held after the press conference at Ankara Esenboğa Airport prior to the taking off the first direct flight by AnadoluJet between Ankara and London, a cake prepared by BTA Catering was the focal point of attraction. The cake was decorated with symbols of Ankara Atakule and one of the most famous landmarks of London, Tower Bridge over the River Thames. The reception held to celebrate the first direct flight by AnadoluJet between Ankara-London on Friday 28th January 2011 was attended by TAV Esenboğa General Manager Nuray Demirer, Anadolu Jet Regional Flights President Sami Alan, and DHMI Esenboğa General Director Yılmaz Keles. TAV Esenboğa General Manager Nuray Demirer said “We are facilitating many direct flights to various parts of the world from Ankara Esenboğa Airport and today AnadoluJet adds another one to our schedule. This is an important day both for AnadoluJet and Ankara Esenboğa Airport. We are continuously improving the service quality at Ankara Esenboğa Airport which has now become the new regional hub of Turkey. The passenger traffic through Esenboğa Airport is mounting up each year and number of passengers has increased by 28% in 2010 compared to figures in 2009.“ AnadoluJet Regional Flights President Sami Alan remarked that they are proud of the level of success they have achieved in a time less than 3 years since the inception of the company. Mr. Alan said that they have now launched their 50th destination and added 14th foreign destination to their current 36 local destination points. Highlighting the importance of the issue, Alan commented: "We are very proud in launching our 50th flight destination in a short time of 2 years and 8 months. Alan announced that AnadoluJet would be facilitating 3 flights a week –on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays- from Ankara to London and the passengers from almost 20 cities in Anatolia would have the chance to fly to London with 1-1,5 hours connection flights. He also remarked "We are not only meeting the needs of Ankara. As our name suggests, we are trying to become the jet of Anatolia. We will offer connection flights from various points in Anatolia to London via Ankara.” With the direct flights between Ankara and London departing at 10:45 hrs every Wednesday, Friday and Sunday, passengers will now be able to fly directly to London from Ankara The duration of Ankara-London direct flight is 4 hours and 25 minutes and the flights are scheduled to take off at 10.15 hrs from Ankara arriving London at 12.40 local time. During the traditional celebration ceremony following the speeches, the passengers were treated to a cake prepared by BTA Catering, a service company of TAV Airports that operates Ankara Esenboğa

No, you can still check-in to your flight when you arrive at the terminal. On the other hand, for a faster and safer experience, we recommend to complete your online check-in before arriving at the terminal, whenever possible.

Your body temperature will be checked with thermal cameras upon entering the terminal. Anyone with a body temperature above 37.5C will be directed to the health authorities. We kindly remind you to put on your mask before entering the terminal building.

Until further notice, only passengers and airport staff will be allowed inside the terminal. Please wait in the carpark to welcome guests.

Transportation with Havas Services:

You can use HAVAS services to come to our Terminal from city center which depart every half hour from ASTI passenger arrivals hall between 03:00 – 21:00 hours or from Havas Terminal at Ulus 19 May Stadium’s B entrance between 03:00 – 21:30. Between 21:00 – 03:00 Havas buses make arrangements according to departure hours of flights.

After your arrival at Esenboga Airport, to go to the city center, you can use Havas services from their bus stop in front of Domestic-International Lines Arrivals Floor. Bus stop is on the right side of entrance. Buses do not have fixed schedule and depart according to arrival times of flights.

THY International Lines CIP Lounge: Turkish Airlines Business Class and Elit Card holder passengers can make use of this hall which is operated by Turkish Airlines and situated at International Lines Departures floor, in the upper floor of cleared area after passport control.

Wings Prime Class Lounge: “Primeclass” passengers, card owners specified by Akbank, Priority class card holders and guests of other contracted institutions can make use of this facility free of charge while other passengers need to pay usage fee. WINGS “primeclass” Lounge is located at Domestic Lines Departures Floor in the lower floor of cleared area after second security control.

Is Bankasi Millenium Lounge: All Is Bankasi Credit Card holders and First and Business Class passengers of contracted airlines can benefit from services of İs Bankasi Millenium Lounge free of charge.
